Crystal · Transparent Appearance and Fast Curing

SpiderMaker Crystal is a transparent UV resin characterized by its transparent appearance, shorter exposure time, and flexible post-processing. It is suitable for clear display parts, lampshades, transparent housings, and display prototypes that reveal internal structures. After printing, sanding, polishing, or a compatible clear coat can improve the visual transparency, while gentle heat treatment can accelerate yellowing reduction.

In-House R&D · Made in Taiwan

SpiderMaker develops the Crystal formulation in-house and manages production and quality control in Pingzhen, Taoyuan, Taiwan. Raw-material selection, formulation, and product inspection are handled by its professional team.

SpiderMaker Crystal Features

Transparent Appearance

Suitable for display parts and models that require a transparent visual effect. Actual transparency depends on model thickness, internal bubbles, surface smoothness, and post-processing.

Easy Sanding and Polishing

Printed parts can be progressively sanded and polished to improve surface smoothness. A compatible clear coat can further improve the visual transparency.

Rapid Yellowing Reduction

If a light yellow tint remains after UV post-curing, heat treatment at approximately 60°C for 30 minutes can accelerate yellowing reduction.

Fast Curing

Compared with many transparent UV resins, shorter per-layer exposure times may be used with suitable printers and settings, helping reduce the total printing time.

Recommended Applications

Suitable for clear display parts, lampshades and light-guiding appearance parts, transparent housings, container models, decorations, and display prototypes that reveal internal structures.

Print Settings

Recommended Phrozen printer settings for Crystal are available on the UV resin print settings page. Click the button below to go directly to the Crystal section.

Published settings are based primarily on a 0.05 mm layer height and Phrozen printers. Exposure, lift, and retract settings should still be adjusted according to light intensity, release-film condition, model size, transparency requirements, and ambient conditions.

Washing and Post-Curing Recommendations

  1. After printing, remove uncured surface resin with alcohol or isopropyl alcohol.
  2. Avoid prolonged soaking. After washing, make sure liquid on the surface, in holes, and inside the part has completely evaporated.
  3. After the part is completely dry, post-cure it evenly under UV light for 30 minutes.
  4. Rotate thick-walled, deep-hole, or complex parts so all surfaces receive more even UV exposure.

Improving Transparency

After washing and post-curing, transparent prints may show a frosted-glass-like surface. This is a common surface condition for transparent resins.

For a clearer appearance, progressively sand and polish the surface to improve smoothness. A compatible clear coat may also be applied evenly after cleaning and drying. Actual transparency still depends on model thickness, internal bubbles, surface smoothness, and coating quality.

Rapid Yellowing Reduction

If a Crystal print still has a light yellow tint after UV post-curing, place it in an environment at approximately 60°C and heat it for approximately 30 minutes to accelerate yellowing reduction.

Use a dedicated material-processing oven and place the model securely without external load. Watch for heat deformation in thin-walled, slender, or easily deformed structures. Do not use a food oven.

Use and Storage

  • Shake or stir the resin thoroughly before use to prevent settling from affecting print results.
  • For assembly tolerances or dimensional fits, print a test part first and adjust the model according to the actual shrinkage.
  • If internal bubbles appear in a transparent print, first review the pouring and stirring methods. Reduce lift speed when necessary and confirm the result with a test print.
  • Filter unused resin through a fine filter before returning it to the original bottle to prevent debris from entering.
  • Keep the resin away from direct sunlight and other UV sources. Seal the bottle tightly and store it in a cool place.
  • Wear suitable gloves and maintain good ventilation when handling liquid resin.
